I took care of my Dad for the last 10 years of his life (he had a brain disease similar to Alzheimer's).It was difficult,particularly toward the end,but I'm glad I did it. My Dad was so good to all of us that it would have been a sin to put him in a home in his time of need.
Good for you! Thank God I am not in that place yet with my folks, but I will never put them in a nursing home and I believe most Boomers feel that way about our aging parents.
