There were a lot of you back when this story broke saying my scenario for a massive global trade war was ludicrous - not sure if you specifically - so, let me just ask you straight up: now that this looks more possible, are you O.K. with a massive global trade war over the transfer of a small fraction of port terminal operations from one foreign company to another?

Based on the latest reports, no massive global trade war on the horizon. Of course, anything remains to be seen.

I don't like some pissant country trying to financially blackmail the greatest nation this world has ever seen. Without us, there would be Hitler Holidays. Without us, the Soviets would have europe, without us, the state of Israel would be a state of mind.

As far as I know Israel does no (official) trade with the Arab world-even the handful of countries that have normalized diplomatic relations with it have a de facto, if not de jure, boycott-and they've managed to survive quite well.

Since when did our nation's economic health, or security, become dependent upon one artificially created, not very democratic nation located in the Persian Gulf?

If our future were inseparable from that of the Arabs, then why does the Jewish State even exist, three decades after the fearsome Arab League boycott was initiated?
