I have read and heard quite a bit of both sides but their attitude towards Israel is what killed it for me. Of course DPW wouldn't have been in charge of any security and nothing much would have changed. I just don't want anti-semites operating our ports. Simple as that.

"We have Republicans and DemonRATs willing to trade the close relationship we've developed with the UAE for some stupid notion that it will give them reelection. Good night! If one could measure how shallow their political loyalty for the country, it would require an electron microscope!"
It would be a good time to live in D.C. - I'd like to hold a "we support trade with UAE - they are on our side" rally.

Your Tales from the Crypt have no bearing on this issue.
Go to the grandparent... it's related there. :)

The depths of which are utterly stunning. Ahh yes, you have an indefensible position, so you resort to namecalling. Nice job.

----I'm sorry, but I'm not among the classic conservative homophobe stance.---- I might as well tell you that around here, that's one fight you're simply not going to win. Sell out our national security interests to the Middle East, we can do; live-and-let-live with American homosexuals.... uh uh. ;)
I have a gay friend (uh-oh, there goes another of my conservative "credentials") who's a stinkin' leftie (though I've heard him say a few things on welfare and immigration that tell me he's still too far to the right for his party), but who, in just about any given political debate, can absolutely destroy most of the people who want to burn down theaters showing "Brokeback Mountain".

The appeasers here say to forget all about that stuff. They are such a staunch ally, that we must overlook their penchant for sexually abusing children. /heavy sarcasmTalk about melodrama. I haven't seen one post in this LONG thread saying the UAE is perfect or our staunchest ally. Rather, they are an important ally to have right now in the WOT to include the escalating situation with Iran. Why that is hard to understand is beyond me.

Probably their plan all along, knowing how the public would react. It was certainly a self-fulfilling prophecy initiated by many in the States.

We have even disagreed once or twice before. That we have; but we have AGREE once or twice on other issues, too!
That's what makes this place so great.

BTW, your posting history is interesting. You've never posted more than about three lines at any one time.Does your brain only work in Savage-esque soundbites?
I'm sorry you can't defend your position better. That's not my fault. Namecalling isn't a good debate tactic. It shows weakness.

If they're such a marvelous ally, then why this? It's reasonable from our perspective.
To: SunStar
Yes. They're not really our ally.Tell that to George Bush, Tommy Franks, Donald Rumsfeld and thousands upon thousands of our servicemen/women who have been through or stationed there.

We oppose all forms of liberalism, socialism, fascism, pacifism, totalitarianism, anarchism, government enforced atheism, abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, racism, wacko environmentalism, judicial activism, etc.
Hrm. Well, they might as well be anti human then. While the organization is free to oppose it, there are those of us that are related to people who are homosexual. So, we don't exactly have a choice.

Actually, I didn't understand a word of that post. And I don't get what you are trying to infer.
If that makes me stupid, oh well. It's incoherent.
