Oh man, you can have Massachusetts. But you can't live in Carolina and Colorado and Massachusetts AT THE SAME TIME. That's the point. If you want 14K foot mountains, sure, go to Colorado, but the flip side is enjoy your 48 hour drive to the beach. And I hope you don't like water, cuz they pretty much don't have any. And you want to see traffic? Try driving up into the Rockies on I-70 on a Saturday morning. Makes the parkway look like a deserted highway. The point is Jersey has a little of EVERYTHING. If you like mountains, lakes, beaches, cities, restaurants, etc, NJ is a great place. Massachusetts??? yegads, you can have it! worst drivers in the country, I think.

Oh, if that is the point, then I will take NH, where I once had the privlige of living. In NH, you can have the mountains that BLOW the Pocohills away, Ocean, lakes, scenery, everything and with a HELL of alot less hastle than NJ and those things BLOW NJ away.

And no, NJ drivers might just be on par with Mass drivers as the worse. Or have ya noticed that none of the insurance companies are beating down the doors to do business in Joisey.

Oh, and I would gladly give up the Ocean for a chance to live in the Rockies. By the way, there is more than one state in the Rockies, for example, Utah or Washington (Whistler is nearby as is the Ocean, I believe). Trust me, it doesn't take forever to get to the ski slope on a Saturday at either place and the skiing is worth it.

Yes, Joisey has a little of everything and alot of people who want to enjoy that little making everything overcrowded and overwhelmed and, well, to little. On the Joisey shore every square inch of space has a house on it. As for Mass, my point was that the rate Joisey is going, there will be NO difference between it and Joisey when it comes to the drawbacks of living in Mass v. Joisey.

To: Huck; Sarastro

You affirm the point that Sarastro made earlier...what is important to YOU! Mountains and the beach, I have 14,000 ft peaks in 4 hrs and the beach in 45 minutes where I'm writing this in the SF Bay Area. And yet, I'd leave here if it were not for an elderly mother-in-law that needs care and a married daughter and her family who leave just a block from us. Why would I do that with great attractions, great weather, low property taxes, almost no mortgage? One reason that is significant to me...TRAFFIC. Cars everywhere. I need to exercise great care just backing out of my driveway in a residential neighborhood. So, different factors for different people.
