Principal Caught Kissing In Gym

District To Further Investigation

POSTED: 6:27 pm EST March 8, 2006

A principal at a local elementary school is on administrative leave for kissing a Parent Teacher Organization member in the gym.

A parent caught Brian Winters, principal at Washington Elementary School in Romeo, as he was kissing a member of the PTO in the school gymnasium, Local 4 reported.

"This is poor judgment," said Joe Beck, Romeo School District superintendent. "I want to make it clear that this does not involve the student, this is two adults."

Beck said the district will investigate the situation further, and report any new information to the school board during Friday's meeting, and will consider possible further disciplinary action, according to the station's reports.

Winters was placed on paid administrative leave.

Um...Huh? He kissed an adult woman (I surmise) and the Gestapo cracks down?

We better get a handle on this culture. Quick.

Had this been a same-sex kiss, the principal would have been given an award, if not a raise or a promotion.

There's got to be be more to this story.
To be put on leave with possible further disciplinary action for simply kissing another adult is a huge overreaction.

The lack of details in this story is mind boggling.

A parent caught principal Brian Winters kissing a 'member of the PTO' in the gym.

Kissing? Kissing how (or where)? Was the PTO member male or female? Was it consentual? Was there any other 'activity' going on? How did this info make it to the news?

Journalists are ridiculous. This was probably published out of an obligation to cover a police report, and not get scooped by other news outlets. There is obviously more here, but the writer apparently wants to convey as little info as possible, probably beacuse it hurts his private agenda.

Hey, c'mon. Nothing more than a mom making sure her little Johnny passes the third grade.

There's got to be be more to this story.

That's what I was thinking. Possibly one or both of them are married?

If it was a married woman, there could be some merit here.

Well I suppose it beats an adult kissing a minor.

So we have someone in education caught engaging in a display of affection with an adult of the opposite sex? No wonder this is considered news.

That is the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

The Superindendent should not only be fired for this, he should have his head examined!

What's next? Sexual Harassment charges for a 5 year old boy kissing a little girl?

Oh, wait...

What a poorly written story....but it does appear it was another adult...and given how many teachers have been caught with children lately he should almost be given an award for focusing on an adult.
