HAROLD ICKES M for voter database.
One of Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's top political advisers is taking in big bucks from liberal moneyman George Soros to create a massive Democratic voter database.........Harold Ickes, a former White House deputy chief-of-staff to Bill Clinton and a campaign aide to Hillary, is collecting more than $10 million in the bid to outflank the GOP's high-tech research, The Washington Post revealed yesterday.
His secretive effort is ruffling feathers at Howard Dean's DNC, the outfit officially tasked with building detailed voter lists.
Ickes, who's partnering with Democratic operative and former DNC research guru Laura Quinn, is mounting the computer research bid in a not-so-subtle no-confidence vote in Dean's record-keeping.
Ickes lost out to Dean last year in a bid to be the Dems' party boss. "It's unclear what the DNC is doing"....
Clinton, who already inherited hubby Bill's massive national fund-raising network, could get first dibs on new, first-rate voter records built to rival the GOP research network grown on Karl Rove's watch.
Insiders say Clinton has long fretted that the party's liberal leaders lacked the discipline to build up the party infrastructure as Republicans have done.
The GOPers have streaked past the Democrats in building such a comprehensive voter database they can tailor campaign mail to a single voter's pet issue, everything from abortion to gun owners' rights. Ickes' effort would allow Clinton to engage individual voters in much the same way.
Soros - who spent tens of millions of dollars trying to defeat President Bush in 2004 - is a key fund-raiser in this latest Dem effort, for which Ickes has already raised $7.5 million.

A huge, public, and nasty battle between hillary, dean and soros would be very interesting, not to mention damaging to the RATS. How old is Soros, anyway? Will he even be around in '08?

For anyone unfamiliar with Soros, google his name....find out what he's REALLY all about. Can you spell socialism? A lot is available; just have to look for it. BTW, Soros' real name is George Schwartz.
