"China issued Thursday the Human Rights Record of the United States in 2005"

I stopped reading right at that. China? talking about human rights? and in the USA??????. Are they nuts or what?. My best guess is that the report is not credible, so why bother reading it?.

That's as far as I got as well. When I was in China I met a man who had been in prison an aggregate of 30 years as well as tortured...his crime was being a Christian leader.

And all those furniers keep wanting to get in here and suffer with rest of us. Get those walls built ASAP, folks are fleeing by the boat loads. (Well, by the cruise ship load anyway.)

Well, if you need experts on human rights abuses...

aside from the same old rhetoric regarding prisoner "abuse" in Iraq (fraternities do much worse!), it seems as if the rest of the report is a compilation of incidents by individuals, such as police brutality. Such things are not ordered by the government to keep an iron grip on the citizens, unlike the country that issued this report.

oh, and they want to talk about mine safety? a mine collapses here and a dozen die. yes, that was tragic. but in China, mines collapse every week, with a few dozen deaths each time. I remember last year when nearly 600 died in a mine collapse!

ok, stepping down from my soapbox... =P

China whines about human rights when they are the biggest violators of human rights on the planet. In other words only a dumb leftist would take this "report" seriously.

What an excercise in hypocrisy! The world's leading experts in the violation of civil rights blathering a ton of hot air and other gasses about a mistake made by a policeman.

They protest to distract us from their own entrenched policy of coercion, harrassment, anti-freedom and anti-Christianity.
