"Karen Golding, a government relations manager for insurance giant Prudential Financial, is accused of breaking into the government-issued car of Assemblyman Joseph Cryan, a Democrat, and of writing threatening letters and making threatening calls to Cryan and others."

So, Corzine bails her out?

(AP) TRENTON New Jersey Gov. Corzine posted $5,000 bail for a lobbyist who is accused of stalking the Democratic State Committee chairman.

Karen Golding is accused of breaking into Assemblyman Joe Cryan's state-issued car.

Golding is manager of government relations at Prudential Financial. She worked on Corzine's 2000 Senate campaign.

A Corzine spokesman told The Star-Ledger of Newark that the governor offered the loan after ensuring that Golding was not a danger to the community.

The aide said that Corzine did not know that the Democratic chairman was the target of the stalking.

The 36-year-old lobbyist is scheduled to appear in court on March 16.

Cryan declined comment.

During the gubernatorial campaign, it was learned that Corzine had forgiven a $470,000 loan to a former girlfriend. Carla Katz heads one of the state public employee unions
