Though there's no question, she says, that the rift between the Muslim and Western worlds has widened, it also should be noted that a large number of people - especially in this country - have made an effort to broaden their knowledge of Islam since 9/11.

This is the only time in the entire article that 9/11 is even mentioned. And you'd have to infer from context that Muslims had anything to do with it.

Meaning of course, that if a woman fails to cover herself properly and gets raped, it's her fault and she should beg forgiveness from Allah.
