You would think that the folks here would have also picked up the one statement where he said that there is no government program that will help in this area either. It's simply balanced eating in moderation and exercise. Nope that was completely ignored. What the hell are you talking about? You claimed that there were a lot of people attacking Simmons' sexuality on this thread. There weren't. Your rant had nothing to do with fatties. If you want to go around accusing FReepers of things, the onus is on you to get your facts straight.

Gay, muslim, female (especially American or older), illegal immigrant, overweight etc.... are auto-hates.
I bet not one of the kneeJERKS have actually dealt with/tried to help etc someone with morbid obesity. It's a nightmare for all concerned....you're dealing with physiological, mental, emotional problems.... family dynamics, sabotage, hygeine issues etc. Many have one foot in the grave and know it.
So RS gets triple stars from me. I've come a long way from that vapid 90 pound intern I was that thought "Eeewwwww they're fat!" and not seeing humans. Now I do.

I don't have any problems with Simmons. He's a good guy who has helped a lot of people. He also has a great sense of humor.
But...that word...
His sexuality was made fun of in several posts, but that really wasn't the issue I stated. The issue I also addressed was the fact that every fat thread on FR is overrun by the "juveniles" who ridicule the people that Simmons actually reaches out to.
Look up the fat threads and see what I'm talking about. Heck just go back and look at your posts on this thread. You make my point.
