BWHAHAHA!!! It didn't take long did it? I expect more 'conservatives' to come out against this Hollywood 'garbage' as the release date gets closer. It's all about Bush and Republicans, it has to be!!

Unfortunately the work this movie is based upon was released as a comic book in Great Britain in the early 1980s. The author even addresses the concerns, 20 years ago, of surveillance equipment (cameras) on the streets of London. And what do we have in some cities overseas today? And what do cities here in the US advocate? It doesn't have a damn thing to do specifically with Bush. What it does have to do with is an intrusive government that takes away the freedoms of the citizens in order to protect them.

Conservatives shouldn't have any problem with this movie. Republicans in their partisan beliefs may though

I think it's exactly about Bush and the way the Left perceives him. It's just the old trick of changing the time and the place of a story to try to be clever. Operas did it all the time--they made contemporary political points by using stories out of antiquity of mythology. That said, it may very well be a great movie. I hope so--we've had precious few lately.

A Christian husband and wife team of screenwriters were offered the opportunity to update "The Day the Earth Stood Still" screenplay for a new version of the classic film.

They really wanted to do it, but realized that the entire film leads up to the "you violent Earth people are violent" speech at the end, which could easily be tweaked to support whatever pet message the producers were pushing with the change of a few lines, from "you polluting Earth people pollute" to "you religious Earth people hate same-sex marriage". They passed.
