I had a conversation with my aunt over dinner last night, similar to your question. She asked me if I was interested in seeing "Hillary!" (TM) at "a Jewish couple's house" as a fund raiser. You only need to cough up $1000. I told her, flat out, that democrats, and the left, are no longer friends of Jews or of Israel. She just couldn't believe me. And she won't. It's because the MSM (newspapers and TV) don't bother reporting it, and she's not interested in learning anything other than what's being fed to her. And a sad majority of people are doing the same thing, especially in the Jewish community. That's the reason for it.

There's a parallel in the Harry Potter books, where the people really do NOT want to believe that Voldamort's back, and they'll do anything to keep that belief.
