You might want to sit through 2 hours of having more gay themes shoved down your throat or wading through Hollywood's idea of race relations and find that entertainment I just find it excruciating and liberal.
I prefer to be entertained when I go to see a movie so I rarely find that type of movie anything but painful.
Like I said, there is not a single movie that was up for best picture that I had the slightest interest in ever seeing. As a matter of fact I bet if you gave me a list of the movies picked in the last 10 years for this category I will have seen very few of them except LOTR.
I am out of touch with the pickers of the Oscars but I usually go to see 20 to 27 movies a year at the theaters, the ones that everybody else sees also, you know the ones that actually make lots of money.
Crash wasn't a Hollywood film. It's more Canadian really. And it's one of the few movies I can recall to show that ethnic minorities can be racist as well. It's certainly not the same old 'White man is the Devil' spiel. Capote is quite an unflattering depiction of the title character. His sexuality is virtually unmentioned.
Anyway if you just prefer uplifting escapism that's fine. I just didn't see the films I mentioned as falling into the liberal preaching'.blanket.
