From the article, it doesn't appear that the authors of the book did anything other than tell a true story. The 'sexual undertones' thing appears to be coming from parents of readers, not the authors.

That is what I was thinking. If the book doesn't talk about them mating or whatever then this could almost truly be a case of homophobia.

Yeah, I got that too but does to take a book to tell that story? I got the whole thing from two paragraphs out of a newspaper article.

Not to judge but I'm thinking a true book about a couple penguins sitting on an egg has got to be damn boring. That said, I'm betting there is more to this book that we can see from this article. That two "life-partners" chose this as the subject of a book is a tad coincidental for my taste.
