31:15 Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD: whosoever doeth any work in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death.
Kill people who work on Sundays?
You're in favor of that as well I gather.
We're going to need a lot of bodybags!
Christ pointed out to the Jews their complete misunderstanding of the OT commands. They had sought to make the observance of the Sabbath more rigorous than God had commanded. It was not wrong to eat on the Sabbath, even if the food must be obtained by plucking corn from the ears. Nor was it wrong to do good on the Sabbath day. To heal was a work of mercy, and the Lord of the Sabbath is merciful (cf. also Jn. 5:118; Lk. 13:1017; 14:16). In Mk 2:27, we see the Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.
