The term "assault" rifle is really a misnomer

Strictly speaking, an assault rifle is a select fire rifle or carbeine that fires a medium sized projectile.

Banning such weapons as M4s is stupid. A bolt action winchester, which even liberals don't feel threatened by, chambered in 7mm weatherby magnum, possesses twice the effective range, more than double the accuracy, and more than three times the destructive power per shot as compared to an M4 or AK-47. The 7mm WM cartridge will shoot through both sides of the best kevlar vest at 400 yards range. This cartridge was introduced in the 1940s, and there are quite a number of hunting cartridges much older than have equal or even greater firepower.

And yet, the libs feel threatened by these cheap rifles shooting low-medium power cartridges. The truth is that compared to rifles at large, AK-47s and M4s have very low firepower per shot.

Ask Ted Kennedy what he thinks about bolt action rifles -- it was a lowly bolt action Carcano that JFK was shot with. The truth is, Liberals don't want us to have ANY guns, even when they lie and say differently.
