They split I-35 in the Twin Cities as well, and it's a royal pain in the ass. 35W staggers drunkenly to and fro for about 20 miles through Minneapolis, and 35E, while a bit straighter than 35W, has a 45 mile-per-hour speed limit, earning it the nickname "the Practice Freeway".

I remember driving through Indianapolis and discovering, to my unpleasant surprise, that the speed limit on I-70 was 50!
