Associated Press JACKSONVILLE -- Four white fire lieutenants were not promoted by Jacksonville's black former fire chief because of their race, a jury ruled.
The lawsuit focused on the denied promotions of Lts. Michael Price, George Williams, Mike Perryman and Nolen Sauls, who has since died. On Friday, the jury awarded them back pay, finding that race was the motivating factor in former Fire and Rescue Chief Ray Alfred's decision not to create rescue captain positions even though they were next in line for promotion in 1999.

I'm not quite sure what to do with all this good news so far this week. First the SCOTUS decision yesterday; now this. Let's hope the good news keeps rollin' in.
Oh no, say it isn"t so....a black guy discriminated against a bunch of white guys?....where's Jesse and Al and Louis and all the other black leaders helping these victims of racial discrimination? Let's get a march going, and raise holy hell over this blatant act....and get Julian Bond to make a speech and Hillary too! Why, that's "plantation" thinking on the former chief's part!!! Same thing happened in Clayton county, Georgia when a black guy was elected sheriff and his 1st day fired all the honkies there. He got sued and lost too!
