10 minutes before his death he may have accpeted Jesus and asked for forgivness of his sins. The point is this - no human knows the heart of another person, that job, thankfully, is left to Jesus.
I'm not putting myself in his sandals to condem a person.
Personally, I don't think condemnation is within the power of human beings.
