I recommend God and Man at Yale by William F. Buckley. Good read.

We still have the cathedral of freedom but how long will it last without the faith?
A prescient thought ... one has only to look at the literal cathedrals in France ... where there is hardly any religion left ... to realize how endangered they are ...
What a keen intellect Dr. Sowell has ...
Thanks for the ping.

I am reading Horowitz's The Professors, and it is shocking. However, I also sat in faculty meetings in the eighties where we strategized about just needing arm bodies in classes to keep our jobs David deserves kudos for all his efforts to shine 'the light' on the current 'darkness descending' in our universities; look forward to reading his latest.
Should be required reading for all high school seniors. . .and their parents.
This could empty a few aisles as well. . .and have faculty strategising for some warm bodies as well ;^)
Bet you have more than a few stories to tell. . .

This site, all of us, and even Thomas Sowell is so far from their horizon of consideration that it is not even realistic to think they would read it, or even understand it if they did.All true. . .but of course, was speaking in the 'larger' sense; beyond FR and even Thomas Sowell. . .but you are right; there is a certain LOL. . .if not a sad LOL so to speak. . . ;^)

If you think around the edges of what he prsents, it starts to become clear how university education may have gotten so expensive. Most of the $100,000 people he profiles are in bogus departments. There are 250 peace studies departments, also black studies, ethnic studies, women's studies. Apparently, little study or scholarship goes on there, just leftist indoctrination.
I asked my son why he took Bibl as Literature from an atheist philosopher (2X). He said he was just trying to fulfill humanities requirement while avoiding black and women's studies on the way to a computer science degree. You may or may not know that this all started when, after deconstructing literature, English departments made up multiculturalism so they would have something to do. So they started deconstructing culture, too. Ultimately, they will be replaced by chimps in honor or Darwin :).
