How very pretty, Billie. This brought me back many, many, moons ago when my father took me to New Orleans on a train to visit my eye doctor. From the train station we took a city bus to Canal Street where the doctor's office was located. I don't expect, in my lifetime, to ever see New Orleans as pretty and 'pomp' as it was then.

Good afternoon, Texagirl. Thank you for the nice compliment, and I'm enjoying everyone's posts of *their* train rides. :)

It is so sad that New Orleans has faced such devastation, and even more sad is the turmoil and controversy that's going on now with all the blame-games. I always enjoyed visiting there and couldn't bear to see it now.
