Well, we didn't design our plan. We are going with an existing one that fit our needs almost perfectly. Also, we are going to be the general contractors. I know, I know, we're crazy.

Just be patient, learn the building codes for your area (so you won't have to do anything twice) and get what you want....Sometimes you may have to settle or go down a notch, but you'll sort through what is really important and what you can live without (or wait until later for)
Seriously, you need to talk to me about this. If you are not very very careful, you will get screwed by suns looking for all sorts of extras and not applying your payments correctly.
Make sure you pay for the materials yourself and have it delivered to your house.
Also, make sure everything is in writing and you get insurance certificates from everybody. Also, amke sure you have no illegals on the property since if they get hurt, you are going to get sued.
