BTW, Bush has set up a clever ruse to appear firm on immigration. Per Chertoff's anouncement some months aog they're going to end the catch and release policy. When? April? May? Nope, October, one month before the election.
Another "ruse" was the 2004 budget wich called for 10,000 new border patrol agents...
Bush's current budget cuts more than 9,700 out.
