I read an article recently here at FR about "spoofing" phone numbers, to make someone else's number appear on caller Id.

...remember the article said that some of the calls were made from 19 different cell phones.

All cell phone now have built in GPS's that automatically log the location of the cell phone at the time it calls an emergency number (like 911). This was mandated by the Federal government.

By default they also log the location at the time you start and end ANY call. This information is being kept for an indefinite time as required by the Federal government.
