MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif -- Dozens of Bay Area students Monday morning boarded a bus to the state capitol to push for gay rights.
The students, who left from Mountain View, will join hundreds of others in Sacramento to call for equality for lesbian, gay, transgender and bisexual rights in California schools.
The first bill they support would require schools to enforce anti-discrimination laws. The second would prohibit discrimination in textbooks and school activities.
The students will rally at noon at the state capitol and meet with their respective legislators.

Are they willing to support anti-discrimination laws to protect conservative Christians?

Yeah, I bet the students did this all by themselves. I am certain that some teacher did not put them up to this to use as his little pawns....

No wonder kids in California have crappy test scores compared to the rest of the US.
The teachers are too busy using them as political tools, rather then educating them.

The protest ride came to an early end when it became apparent that the riders could not bring themselves to drive past a public rest stop without stopping off for a little "recreation."

Ah, so the California gov't can be absolutely sure no child in their state grows up with any moral sense whatsoever. How nice.

I am certain that some teacher did not put them up to this to use as his little pawns....I don't think they need to in California. They've been filling the kids heads with this nonsense for years now. Time for their political payoff.

Can somebody tell me what rights that gay's are being denied that rests of us do have?
To: My2Cents
Their love for "tolerance" does not extend to anything they cannot tolerate. It is not true tolerance that they seek, but a new, politically based orthodoxy and enforcement of that orthodoxy.

Liberals have royally screwed over the beautiful Golden State. Sub-par education, unions, high taxes, overinflated real estate, sky high fuel prices, Gay/Lesby agendas, Hollyweird, Boxer, Pelosi, Feinstein, earth worshippers etc.... I weep for California....

Sounds like they are playing right into the claws of NAMBLA-(North American Man Boy Love Association).
The purpose of this group is to eliminate the age of consent so homosexual pedophiles can legally sodomize boys.
NAMBLA Home Page: http://216.220.97.17/
Here is the link to an ACLU page, where they defended the liberties of NAMBLA. The case stems from the conviction of two murderers, both gay, of a 10-year-old boy. One was possession of NAMBLA material: http://www.nostatusquo.com/ACLU/Rage/NAMBLARAGEPAGE.html
Here are two links that discuss NAMBLA and pedophilia: http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=27431\ http://www.jesus-is-savior.com/Evils%20in%20America/Sodomy/nambla_exposed.htm
Here is a news story about seven NAMBLA members that got busted in a sex sting. Two were teachers. They were planning a trip to Mexico to have sex with boys as young as eight: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,147645,00.html
Here is a story where NAMBLA was busted for illegally using a non-profit organization as a front to promote its goals: http://www.nostatusquo.com/ACLU/NudistHallofShame/NAMBLA.html
Information about NAMBLA and related issues including Child Sex Trade: http://www.2500aday.com/2500_mainindex/nambla.html
Organized Child Molesters: http://www.radiance.m6.net/myrrh/doc-orgs.html
Here's another example of how pedophiles are supposidly "protected" by the constitution. http://signonsandiego.printthis.clickability.com/pt/cpt?action=cpt&title=Two+plead+guilty+in+man-boy+sex+case+%7C+The+San+Diego+Union-Tribune&expire=&urlID=17315224&fb=Y&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.signonsandiego.com%2Funiontrib%2F20060223%2Fnews_1m23nambla.html&partnerID=616 Mayer's lawyer is arguing before U.S. District Judge Jeffrey Miller that NAMBLA is a political organization protected by constitutional freedoms of speech and association, and that federal agents illegally infiltrated it to instigate crimes.
NAMBLA has also been profiled on America's Most Wanted.
"32 percent of those child molestation cases involved homosexuals. Nearly a third of these cases come from only 1-2% of the population." http://traditionalvalues.org/urban/one.php
