Oh, yes. One of the thugs thanked Jesus during the acceptance.

What an embarrassment! I can't believe this show was considered a family show. I was completely disgusted that this song won.

I am really glad Hollywood did this. It made them all look like pimps.

Interesting to remember that it was initially not rap or hip-hop, but rock/metal music that was the reason albums even started receiving "explicit lyrics" warning labels in the first place.

And look at all of the Disney tunes that are award-winning.

I could press a battalion's worth of uniforms with that mucy iron-y...

Didn't you hear Clooney? Hollywood's cutting edge and they don't care what the mainstream thinks.

They gave a black woman an Oscar back in 1938 and Clooney's still bragging about it, even though they didn't give another one out to a black woman for sixty something years. And she wasn't even all black.

This best song Oscar will assuage their white guilt for like two centuries or something. The next black guy to win Best Song hasn't even been born yet. Neither has his daddy, most likely.

I had the show on in the background while I scraped and painted the ceiling. Yep, he is glad to be out of the mainstream. If he had his way, we would not have defeated the Soviets and won't defeat the Islamofascists.

The Oscars has turned into an annual event whereby Hollywood pats itself on the back for opposing everything mainstream and decent in American culture.

In fairness, the Eminem rap "Lose Yourself" seems to have "motherf*****" in its lyric.

But this work is not even on that piece's level. Something's most definitely changed at the Oscars.

The next black guy to win Best Song hasn't even been born yet. Neither has his daddy, most likely.

If this keeps up: Murder by Deception: Black Genocide, there's a good chance that the next black guy to win anything Oscar won't be born at all.

When I started reading I thought it was a joke. I see it's not. Asked my wife if she knew, she said she heard some song with dirty language might win. Unbelievable!

The Oscar version is supposed to have been the cleaned-up, family-friendly version of the original. Wonder how "creative" the original one was.

Oscar finds it hard to stomach 'Pimp' lyrics in new flick. Guess this guy isn't going to be consulted for possible winners next year.

Yes, Hollywood, the self-righteous moralizing defenders of the downtrodden minorities and battered women.

Gives their highest award to a song that glamorizes pimps.

Fitting.

The only part of the show I saw was Dolly Parton singing a fairly religious-sounding song. From what movie was it?

great post doug.. and thanks for the archives of music!

As sound is not a primary (it is tertiary) input for me, I often am not even aware of the music in movies the first time I see them.. but on subsequent viewings usually do note music. And yes, movie fanatic that I am, I see most movies I like multiple times on big screen.

I have a lot of sound tracts of movies .. often there is just one theme or song that is to me key.. Like the sound tract of Price of Egypt..

I hope to eventually make my own CD of these favorite clips.

appreciate the thread .. will read thru rest of posts later..
