I didn't watch the Academy Awards, but I did switch over from time to time, and I saw Reese Witherspoon announced and listened to her acceptance speech. I thought she gave a nice speech, and she looked beautiful...she wasn't falling out of her dress, nor was the skirt split to her waist. She seems to be a very nice person and doesn't belong to the "smoke'em dope'em" crowd. Her entire family was there, and when she acknowledged her grandmother and the advice she had given her, the camera showed her grandmother crying. I haven't seen or read anything about her espousing her political views, but then I don't follow the movie industry too much....just what I read here and on Drudge.

I don't know anything about Reece's political views either, but at least she seems family friendly. Both Reece and her husband made a pack that only one would work on a movie at a time and the other would watch the children. I was so happy to see her win. Her win is the only one that I agreed with. I am so disappointed that Joaquin did not win. I thought he did a great job with Johnny Cash. Why couldn't they give George Clooney another award instead of supporting actor. Of all the movies he has done I only like Ocean 11 and I didn't even bother watching the second one. I can't say that I won't ever see another movie that George Clooney does but coincidentally I haven't been interested in anything he has done since he started on his hate America tirade.
