This is more a commentary on how many dictatorships pakistan has had, than any American proclivity for dictators. Most of Pakistans history has seen a dictator in charge.
India and Pakistan are cut from the same cloth. India has more muslim population than Pakistan. Yet, one is a strong Democracy and the other is not.
India danced with the idea of an anti-Democratic government in 1977 when Indira Gandhi called off elections and imposed emergency. People reacted and threw the government out.
Same can't be said for Pakistan. They seem to be living in perpetual dictatorship with brief experiments with Democracy.
