God forbid we have a tantrum because U.A.E does not even recognize Israel's right to exist and partipates in an ongoing boucott of Israel.
Yeah they service many of our ships.
But Iran is a stone-throw away from U.A.E.
They should be paying us for protection

Dubai services Israeli bound ships all the time. Politically, esp. since, as you note, they are so close to Iran, they are not going to make statements about the political situation.
And they are *not* buying our ports! They are taking over a company (also foreign owned) who loads and unloads sealed cargo containers. None of the ports have just one company doing it.
And Americans do the work. Who cares who writes their paychecks?
