Good morning everyone!

"He said the democrats should just shut up and let the Duncan Hunter's of the world do the talking and they will hurt the republican chances of winning all by themselves. He is spot on with his comments -- these republicans who are speaking out against the President, with some of their rhetoric, are only hurting the republican party, not helping it."

Some say (IIRC Dick Morris was one of them) that the elections are only the Dims to lose. The Pubbies coming out daily against the Pres are playing into the Dims and MSM talking points and bogus polls, thinking if they separate themselves from the Pres, they will win elections. IMHO they are hurting themselves, and the party. The President, as leader of the Republican party, needs to call them in and have a heart-to-heart w them. Granted, he shouldn't have to do this, but, apparently, some Pubbies are
a) too stupid to see what they're doing
b) are out for themselves and don't care
c) thinking they are 'endearing' themselves w the MSM, but their 15 min of fame will only last as long as their oppostion to Bush lasts
and/or
d) thinking that by separating themselves from the Pres will show they are independent and don't follow party lines, and, as mentioned earlier, think this is the way to win elections.

I wish they'd wake up and realize that it's somewhat of a vicious circle - if they'd shut up and support the Pres in public his polls might not be so low, they could still can their mugs in front of the camera and the party would look more united and like it was doing great service for the American people and it would actually HELP them win elections. I understand that they won't agree w the Admin on everything, and shouldn't, but they should discuss oppostion to issues w the Pres or his staff in PRIVATE before going public; and, they should fully understand the WHOLE issue before going public. Frist's statements on the port deal without even speaking w the Pres first is a good example.

The Dim party has looked out of control more and more every year and are disjointed and have no plans, except to bash Bush and Americans were seeing through it. The Pubbies behavior over the past several months has only made them look as bad. Right or wrong, the Dims stick together (IIRC Pelosi issued a mandate to all the Dim House members to do so). Republicans continue to eat their own and need to SHUT UP and remember RWR's 11th commandment.

Maybe some FReepers should compose a letter and send it to every Pubbie member of Congress telling them what they're doing and what they should and should not be doing w a cc to the RNC and WH; and, that they'll get no more funds from any of us until they get their act together and come out as a unified front and show SUPPORT for all the good work the President is doing with all the many issues facing him and our country (probably more than any other Pres in history). If they want to take an opposition view to the Admin's, that's fine, but they could do it in a more positive way and indicate that they've been speaking w the WH and are trying to come up w a compromist.

As you can tell, I'm not very happy this a.m. Thanks for letting me get some built-up anger and frustration off my chest.

Seattle, that is an excellent idea. I am sick of the Republicans who act like the Scottish Lords who stabbed Wallace in the back.

If they think acting like this is going to win them support, they are woefully wrong.
