so one has to logically make the assumption the ultimate problem was with the state and not FEMA

No one even knows the name of the LEMA head. Yes, there is/was a Louisiana Emergency Management Agency! It does not fit the template of Bush's Fault to even mention this man - who apparently must have obeyed the order to evacuate - and was never heard or seen again - at least not in front of a reporter!
As much as I love this President I would never want to give him, or anyone else, that right.
I do believe Mitch Landrieu, Lt Gov and brother of Little Mary, is the head of La emergency preparedness.
someone correct me if I am wrong. He is the one who spent oodles of money on his BR apt to make it comfy for himself and he is now running for Mayor of NO in preparation for his illustrious political career.
Nobody mentions it much down here.
True. LOL I don't know who the LEMA head is either!
But, you're right. Old media is more interested in the latest Bush bash than the truth. (And they wonder why sales, investment and ad dollars are down.)
There is the problem that some of the top people in the Louisiana Homeland Security Agency were Indicted Prior to Katrina, so the names and faces might have been unfamiliar and those that were there may have been inexperienced, as well as lacking resources because of the graft.
Wasn't he indicted shartly before Katrina for mismanagement of funds? If so, had anyone else been named to take his place?
