Exactly.. Divide Iraq into three parts... divide and conquer..
Reward and support the the friendlys, the others will be jealous..
You obviously didn't read the essay, and DON'T say you did. Brigitte Gabriel doesn't mention anything about pulling out of Afghanistan and Iraq. She says America must get tougher and meaner if we are to win the WOT. And I fully agree. This is one of the finest essyas on this subject matter I've read since the 9-11 attacks. Maybe the best.
The US needs to keep our military presence in Afghanistan and Iraq. We need to kill all the "jihadists" and "islamofascists" we can before they kill more Americans. I don't want to engage in any nation building or spreading democracy throughout the Islamic world. I don't require a complete a understanding of the Islamic world or the Muslim mindset, nor di I need to know anything more about Mohammad and the so-called religion of peace. I want to bury the Islamic world, before it buries my world.
ok, sorry that was the way I read it, that type of thinking is at odds with our goals.
they'll be running into a lot of gals and grannies with guns too AND experience!
I don't believe she is stating that all Muslims are the enemy.
Here is what she said: You hear about Wahabbi and Salafi Islam as the only extreme form of Islam. All the other Muslims are wonderful moderates. I hope the pictures of the irrational eruption of violence from around the world in reaction to the cartoons of Mohammed from burning embassies, to calls to butcher those who mock Islam, or to warnings to be prepared for the real holocaust, has given you a glimpse into the real face of the enemy. The news pictures and video of these events represents a canvas of hate decorated by different nationalities who share one common ideology of hate, bigotry and intolerance derived from one source, authentic Islam.
In other words, there are no moderate muslims, because their religion is inherently extremist. She is saying WAKE UP!
I read it, just felt she was using a broad brush.
Who informed them? Maybe you think Al-Quaeda is a reliable source of information.
You only saw what you wanted to see.
"I don't want to engage in any nation building or spreading democracy throughout the Islamic world. EXACTLY!
It's people like you, who think like you do, that will get us all killed.
I'm glad to hear that. I really am.
But I'd like to hear something along those lines from our own politicians (Republican and Democrat). Everytime they attempt to say it they are branded as racists or whatever the fashionable term is.
Oh no, this can't be true!
This Briggite person has to be wrong!
We must listen to the Muslims and try to understand them. For, their hearts and in the right place and they mean good. The only thing they have in mind for us is a world unified under one religion: Islam. So what if they have to murder thousands or millions along the way to achieve their objective. It is, after all, Allah's will and Allah that's directing them.
The troops who have died have died doing their job, which is to kill those who are hostile to us and to prevent them from taking over the government of Iraq. Democracy is too strong a term for what we are, in a poistivly, trying to do. It is to set up a popular government with whom we can deal on the same terms as Pakistan. My guess is thast we have been undercut by our allies, such as Saudi Arabia, which would still like Iraq to be controlled by a Sunni Arab government, and is playing a double game. Helping us and helping the insurgents, not letting their left hand know what their right hand is doing.
"She's playing right into Osama's hands, and undermining our troops in Afghanistan and Iraq, WHY stay in Iraq if they are just going to turn against us?"
I believe her basic thesis that true Islam is the common enemy to be correct. However, I also see your point and think your question is valid.
I felt that "regime" change was necessary in both Iraq and Afganistan - the president did the right thing. I am also starting to think it will be necessary in Iran also.
What we didn't do, and probably should have in both cases, is absolutely make it clear that an Islamic state is totally unacceptable to the West. We do NOT want to abolish Islam, just its control over the machinery of government. It can have a say, but not the biggest say or the final say. Also, we should have ensured TOTAL freedom of religon in those countries. If ever I saw a place where "hate crimes" legislation was appropriate, it is in those areas. Burning, etc. a mosque, church, synagoge, or any place of worship by the citizens of those countries should be a capitol offense (although most of them kill themselves doing it anyway).
You know, I really don't have a clue what should be done, and will now shut up. Sorry.
We know this will fall on MSM deaf ears, no doubt about that.
Just think thats a pretty broad brush thats all...
I hate to jump on the burn wagon here, but can you show one example of a moderate Muslim?
Broad brush? You still haven't read the essay. Either that or you don't understand it. This Brigitte Gabriel
nails every major aspect of the current state of affairs involving America and the war terrorism. The purpose of this essay is directly meant more for people like you, then for people like me. Clearly you don't get it. Even after 4-1/2 following 9-11. The Islamic world and the Muslim people aren't our friends! What's it gonna take for you to realize whats happening in the world today. Do you need another 9-11 style attack on the US homeland to wake you up?
