"In the case of the U.A.E., if the DPW deal was entirely shut down and scrubbed...
...we'd stand to lose:
1. A lot of favor with "friendlier" Arab countries,
2. Permission & space to stage/store a great heap of our Military hardware in their ports,
3. Any future chances of Emirates Airlines ordering up more Boeing 777 airliners."
Just remember that the Taliban was our "friend" and "ally" (against the Soviets) at one point, as well.
Citizens? Registered voters?
Just more bullship from the media.
Oh wait, we're not a democracy, we're a representative republic.
Hey if the news is accurate than I am all for it.
I am not surprised by the what is contained in the article and the results of the poll.
However, if there were more positive new's items our of Iraq, sharing how things are moving forward, the successes than perhaps folks would be better educated when they answer a poll question.
My husband has redeployed to Iraq. I am anxious to read of how things have changed, improved. I know I will get an honest answer from my beloved, No Longer Free State."
I think the President has been far ahead of the American public on the ports issue... not to mention other issues, too.
Your comment was on point thank you. Also, this administration says it doesn't care about polls. So, this to me is really MSM manipulation.
In other news today: Bears still poop in the woods and the Pope is still catholic.
Good Lord the man is not running for another term. He has stated repeatedly that polls dont influence him.Why do they keep doing this endless polling that shows everybody in America hates this guy.I for one cannot understand how he takes it. And if it were me, i would have a long list of folks to challenge to a duel once his Presidency is over.
Well that explains alot.
A majority of adults in five Southern states that President Bush won in the 2004 election now disapproves of his job performance and says the Iraq war was not worth fighting, a poll has found.
Our troops won the Iraq war within days. Since then they have been fighting the war against terrorist, a hostile MSM, pointed-head intellectuals, over-aged hippies and demorats. Many of these fall in all the categories. Our military is kicking a$$e$ of the terrorist but they need Bush to handle the others. He is not as effective lately.
See Sand...Look in mirror...See Ostrich...Stick head in sand...
The other 14 percent were just guesses on the part of the pollers..........LOL.
Prayers for your husband over there...
The other 12% were dead........... but some voted more than once.
I don't believe the polls entirely but they aren't just totally random.
I want secure borders. I am mad as heck that nothing is being done about it. Is that really so awful?
If Bush would forget this Dubai ports deal, the Congress could get back to cutting taxes, reforming the activist judiciary, protecting the unborn (in other words, doing what a conservative government is supposed to do.)
Bush should and will continue to push to approve the Dubai Ports deal. If he were to pull a Kerry and flip-flop, his support would really drop.
I saw Bill Sammon (who I respect a lot) of Wash. Times on Fox, and he said that this anti-foreign-businesses-operating-in-America BS that is coming out of this Dubai ports deal is causing tremors of concern in the International business community.
If this kind of silly irrational unfounded anti-foreign business protectionism is allowed to fester, it could end up crippling the economy both in the U.S. and worldwide. This is a very dangerous trend, and spaghetti-spined Pubbies who are joining the Demonkats on this disgust me.
I'm not surprised that enthusiasm may be waning.
Given the option of Gore, Kerry, or Hillary in the same position instead of Bush, I'm quite sure the response would be "HELL NO!"
Just because we're not happy with Bush doesn't mean we want anyone else doing the job.
It's the Borders!
There's a difference between "anti-foreign" and anti-Middle Eastern.
There is a long history of Middle Eastern "allies" betraying us.
1. The Taliban in Afghanistan. They were our "allies" against the Soviets.
2. Saddam Hussein (remember when the U.S. was providing him with supplies to fight Iran)?
3. The Shah of Iran. He tried to buy Pan Am (the airline) in 1975.
"So, this to me is really MSM manipulation."
That is so true. They have been trying to do something, anything, to get Bush and they have failed at that since 2000. Nothing they do seems to make a difference. So now they trot out this poll supposedly showing Bush losing percentage points. As my original post shows....who cares but the MSM and a handful of liberals. Do you care? I know I don't....lol.
I truly think this is the MSMs way of trying to be relevent.
