I've been polled before ~ even "push polled" by Democrat operatives. I always make an attempt to "turn" them ~ and have succeeded.

Guess we better kick the Saudi's out of our ports then. Oh....didn't you know that the NSCSA has been operating out of our ports for YEARS? They've got terminals in 9 American cities. You did know that before you posted that stuff about the "reality of American people" didn't you? Or are you one of those little lemmings led off the cliffs of sanity by an outraged and hysterical media trying to score points by bashing the Administration?

35 percent were Democrats, 26 percent independents and 25 percent Republicans.

Doesn't add up to 100%.

Bush's blunder on the Dubai ports takeover has hurt him across the board. It may turn out to be the biggest blunder of his presidency.

We decided that the missing 14% were probably illegal aliens.

No wonder they got a low approval rating for Bush, they deliberately hugely oversampled Bush haters.

Once again, the American people have been duped by the leftists that run around America spewing their anti Bush and anti Conservative propaganda.

I agree. While some polls are extremely biased (CBS News for example), even polls conducted for favorable organizations like Fox News show his popularity in freefall.

I think there are two major reasons for this:

First, as you state, he has let a hostile media define him. The ports issue is an excellent example.

Secondly, he has tried so hard not to alienate anyone that he has alienated his base. Most conservatives view Bush as a "neocon" or a moderate with conservative tendencies. Things like "No Child Left Behind," Secretary Mineta, spending money like a drunken sailor and "ROP" have really turned conservatives off.

I'm more concerned for the 2006 elections than I am for Bush.

Link to internals in post #20.

Obviously it oversampled those who voted for Kerry in those states. I'd guess it's about 5 points off or more.

I tend to agree. I dont know how he gets out of this one. In a weird way I have a feeling he was blindsighted by this. Karl should have caught this one.

Would you rather the media just quit reporting the news? My parents have always been very staunch Republicans. In their eyes, the Republican party could do absolutely no wrong. Didn't matter if an action was conservative or not they supported the Republicans every time. They've voted straight ticket for as long as I can remember. In the past year or so they have really waned on their views. My father even told me recently he came very close to leaving the Presidential spot blank on his ballot

I also have a co-worker that was called back into service about 1 month before he was supposed to go inactive for good. He went to Iraq for a little over a year. Now that he's back even he has started to sway in his views.

Whatever you think about how it affects the morale or not, I'd be more concerned if the party itself still represents the views of those being polled.

In the case of the U.A.E., if the DPW deal was entirely shut down and scrubbed...

...we'd stand to lose:

1. A lot of favor with "friendlier" Arab countries,
2. Permission & space to stage/store a great heap of our Military hardware in their ports,
3. Any future chances of Emirates Airlines ordering up more Boeing 777 airliners.

We don't even know what "most" are doing anymore.

Find a 20-30 "something" and ask them if they've seen Shakira's premier video for "Oral Fixacion".

Odds are they have no idea she's pouring oil overherself and will be absolutely startled to see the video.

Only older people have seen that video ~ it's fantastic ~ !!!!!!!!!!

So, how do you poll people like that?

Actually, I did know that, and don't support that any more than allowing Dubai near the ports.

Two wrongs don't make a right.

The Fox News poll, just like the CBS and CNN polls oversampled Democrats by 10%.
