WASHINGTON - A snippet of a conversation between Washington Post reporter Bob Woodward and an unnamed source in mid-June 2003 appears to be a major focus of I. Lewis Scooter Libby's defense in the CIA leak case.
According to a newly released transcript of last week's motions hearing in U.S. District Court, William Jeffress, one of Libby's attorneys, is focusing on three words Everyone knows it.

Tim Russert is NBCs Washington bureau chief and host of "Meet the Press." Libby is said to have testified that Russert told him the name of the CIA agent. Russert has said he did not know Plame or that she worked at the CIA and "he did not provide that information to Libby."Liar, Liar, pants on fire. Russert is involved up to his eyeballs..

Fitzgerald writes in his affidavit that Libby is not entitled to know everything that the government investigation has learned about other leaks to reporters regarding Plame's employment at the CIA. He says that granting Libbys request for more information, would compromise 'innocent accused' in the investigation and delve into irrelevant matters. Can Libby counter sue for malicious prosecution?

Andrea Mitchell also said everyone knew who Wilson's wife was.

He cannot sue, but if he believes this was done maliciously, he could ask the judge for compensation.

BUMP!
Man, EVERYBODY - - Libby, Fitz, the judge, and even the dinosaur Democrat news media - - wants this whole moronic Plame/Wilson thing to just GO AWAY. The trick is to find a way to make that happen so that it looks credible to the public and saves face for everybody involved. No easy trick.
To: OldFriend
Andrea Mitchell also said everyone knew who Wilson's wife was.Sure, but she didn't really mean that.
What she meant was - - you know - - something else.
To: Perdogg
Russert isn't going to like this article, nosirree.

Fitzgerald is an idiot if he doesn't cut and run. This is a persecution, not a prosecution, and it gets worse for him by the day.

Yes, Andrea Mitchell used the term "everyone knows it". The voice on the tape said: "everyone knows it". Could the voice on the tape, who is not a white house employee, and in Novak's words -- no partisan hack, be Andrea's husband?

Can someone give me a source for the cost of this investigation? I need it for a debate with a lib. Thanks.

Put Andrea Mitchell on the stand and make her testify under oath. Then we'll find out which version she wants to tell.
To: Lancey Howard
Oh she sure did the wiggle dance when questioned on her comments. Her response was similar to the 'I lied to my diary' excuse.

What I would like to know is, why does Joe Wilson consider it necessary to work so hard to cover his ass? He's been making the biggest stink about his poor wife being "outed". Perhaps it's because there is something peculiar about his wife recommending him for trips to Niger.
To: OldFriend
Has Andrea disappeared from MSNBC of late? I hardly watch the station anymore, but when I click over, she seems to be absent. Is she in hiding? HA!
