What was it about the car that made them decide to use the bomb squad to search his residence?

allegedly made statements that he acted to avenge the American treatment of Muslims Some would say "charge him with a hate crime". I say charge him with treason and let the courts sentence him to death. We don't need any more "lone nut" terrorists threatening our citizens.

The FBI joined the case because Taheri-azar, a native of Iran, "allegedly made statements that he acted to avenge the American treatment of Muslims," No doubt he reasoned that trying to run over Americans with his car would be the best possible method of improving American public opinions of Muslims.

Was he charged with a "Hate Crime"? ..... oh, I'm sorry, that's only for white Christian males!

Unless Jesus personally tells me to have a better attitude towards Muslims, they can all go to hell.

DUI-SUV
Driving under the influence of an evil SUV.
The poor boy was upset, what with all the cartoons and his Iranian background, tie that in with the frustrations associated with trying to obtain a suicide belt in North Carolina. He just graduated from a Psychology course , Physician heal thyself, he is a total nut.
I figure he will get sent home and not serve much time here, he is needed at home to become a terrorist there.
By the time the State Department gets done with this it wont amount to much.

Taheri-azar called police to surrender and then awaited officers on a street two miles from the campus, authorities said. There's something about this whole case that makes me scratch my head.
He rents an SUV, heads for The Pit, careens around wildly without seriously injuring anyone, screams about how his brother muslims are getting shafted, then calls the police and surrenders?
Almost like he didn't want to get hurt.
Maybe a dry run?

You people are just too mean and, well, bigoted, and, just, like, y'know, EVerything! I mean the poor man, obviously laboring under a mental incapacity .... he lived in the US long enough to get a degree and he STILL doesn't get it?
The poor thing is just too dumb to live. Put him out of his misery -- or send him back to Iran -- or hey, I know, do both! Put him out of his misery and then drop him into the presidential palace of the current deranged fool who runs Iran.
It's the gentle thing to do.

Of course, remember that Chancellor Moeser required incoming freshmen in 2002 to read a cleaned-up version of the Koran.. UNC News Clips

"A recent University of North Carolina graduate"
That little fact also makes me wonder.Well it IS amazing that they let him graduate. He did pass the "hate America" requirement, but evidently he failed on the feminism, heterophobia, green requirements. I mean, honestly, driving an SUV! Can you iMAGine!
Seriously, if only for a minute, from what Mike Adams says about the UNC system, if the guy drew the erroneous conclusion that it represented American thought and attitudes, his wanting to do something violent is less surprising -- still reprehensible, but strangely comprehensible.
