This is the kind of thing that really hurts morale in the military. I think shooting your own fellow soldiers does more to hurt morale than investigating how it happened. I hope they get to the bottom of this.

Of course it does- I am refering to the overall effect on soldiers. If this is true- it has far-reaching consequences- beyond the normal scope of a criminal investigation in the civilian world.

The reason it will hurt morale is the fact that it may have been friendly fire that killed Pat Tillman, though not necessarily. If it was, the soldiers who accidentally shot Tillman will be prosecuted and demoralize other soldiers who will think that "special soldiers" like Pat have special rights which they don't.
Much as affirmative action gives special rights to special people and leaves the majority with the short stick.
