Appreciate the attempt at sympathy but I can't buy it. Israel must bear the responsibility for their own actions. The U. S. is still banning the sale of military hardware to China. Of course, Clinton circumvented the ban, in a sense, by orchestrating the flow of US military secrets to China. However that was more a case of a President betraying his country on a personal level---not actions authorized by our government.

I would not say that it is the US' fault that the Israelis have no ethics/sense on this issue. That said, I think you are spot on with your analysis re: Nixon's blunders in recognizing the barbaric ChiComs.
