Worldwide protests, riots, and threats aimed at Denmark and its citizens have taken place ever since the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten printed cartoons featuring the Islamic prophet Muhammed. In response to this unprecedented assault on the right to free speech, rallies supporting Denmark have occurred in Washington D.C. and New York,. Others are planned for Chicago, London, Toronto, Montreal and Sydney.
In addition, there will be a "Rally to Support Denmark and Free Speech" outside the Danish Consulate in San Francisco:
When: Friday, March 10, between noon and 1pm.
Where: Danish Consulate - One California Street (Suite 330) - San Francisco - Map.
Why: To support Denmark and free speech for all.
Bring: Danish and American flags (buy here), Danish products, pro-Denmark and free speech signs. Examples here and here.
Don't Bring: Bullhorns or amplification equipment, offensive signs or T-shirts. Let's keep it respectful.
Come and make a stand for free speech!

As a Bay Area native I can hold my head a little higher. Sadly I live nowhere in the area now but I will be there in spirit. If there is anything I can do remotely to help freepmail me.

A rally for Denmark and Free speech?
Strange - I thought San Francisco would have banned this type of thing by now in the name of tolerance.

Thanks for the ping, metmom. Glad that folks are standing up for Denmark. I hope the Danes stand up for Israel (now that they know what it is like to live with muslims).

You've no idea how the Palis have hurt their own standing here in Scandinavia by hounding out our aid workers under threat of death. According to a new poll, 63 percent of them support violence over the damned cartoons, although Scandinavia has been the biggest donor to the PA second to the United States.
This does not go unnoticed around here. I just don't understand how it's possible to be so stupid as the Palis. The evil is actually easier to comprehend.
