Yeah. Boxes of gear in Connecticut (of all places) aren't much good right here right now. So I'm not sure under what scenario these "ready kits" stored in Newington would be of real benefit.

I'm probably not as ready as I should be, but I could be in the Jeep in an hour or less with portable capability for HF general coverage, 2M, 220, and 440 (and for hazardous duty, several calibers too).

And that's just me. In the local area there are lots of folks with similar capability, plus a handful of local collectives that have trailers with crank up towers, portable repeaters, and things of that nature.

Probably the weakness in this area (and I'd suspect most areas) is a lack of EMP proofing. And quite honestly I'm not sure how critical that is.
