in the past, his information has been proved to be correct. (i wouldn't know where to even "start looking for" the supposed 1st name of the drug.)

Ah, another impossible-to-verify Watie source. Let's see, a Google search of C.R.A. Wright and heroin shows 752 hits, all saying that Wright invented heroin. S.L.A. Morton and heroin shows zero. "Mortonite" shows only a bunch of people from towns called "Morton"
My God, just how stupid do you take us to be? If good ol' Doctor Morton had in fact "invented" heroin as you say he did - a claim not supported by any reference I'm aware of - then he would not have called it "Mortonite". He would have called it....diacetylmorphine. Or something close to that. The naming conventions for organic chemical compounds had been established by the French in the 1790s and had been accepted world wide. Heroin is called that for the same reason aspirin is called aspirin, because that was the name it was marketed under when Bayer introduced it.
However, you have given me inspiration. I propose that we give all future stand waite discoveries their only scientific label. I suggest we call them 'Moronite'.
So, that's Wright invents heroin:16,000. Morton invents heroin, zero.
