Sorry but Washington, Jefferson, and Madison belonged to that generation with sufficient integrity to recognize that slavery was a wrong which had to be dealt with. Henry likely did as well.

None of the others were intellectual giants in any sense with the best being a great general but politically clueless from all appearances. His ability to become greatly loved was not a reflection of intellect.

My argument stands tall.
