And in light of the latest party split caused by Bush's habitual flipping off of his own base (we weren't so "nativist" when it came time to re-elect YOU, Mister "The Course of This Nation Does Not Depend on the Decisions of Others"), the pleas for cash become downright hilarious.

You want to know when I'll send money? I'll send money when the rest of the GOP Congress takes a cue from Duncan Hunter and tells both Bush and the UAE what they can go do with their ports deal. Until then I will donate not a penny and lift not a finger. And if the Republicans get a spanking this November then maybe they'll once again learn the value of earning the support of the people.

The only principled stand is to support the rightward most candidate who is viable. Anything else is an unprincipled indulgence in condemnation of your own family and your neighbors to life under liberal Democrats.
