Natural law doesn't dictate a particular number You advocated "natural law". Do you support what you claim is the natural standard "standard"?

Do you support what you claim is the natural law "standard"?I support natural law's demand for a distinction between adults and non-adults; further, I know of no empirical evidence that would lead natural law to deduce an age of consent lower than its current value.

I don't really have a dog in this fight. I used to get high back in college, but stopped, not because I thought it was wrong, or because I thought I'd get busted, but because, after a time, it simply made me stupid and paranoid. Obviously, it doesn't affect everone that way; it was just my biochemistry. I just wanted to say that I enjoy your posts and am surprised at the number of pro-pot posters here. Must be a lot of libertarian lurkers who come out in full force when the mood or topic strikes them.

Mexicans and black jazz musicians from luring white women into sexual misconduct(winston2) Show me that reference in the Controlled Substances Act.
It really shows that you don't know much about Harry Anslinger and that you have never seen the movie - Grass.
The short answer to your question is that Harry Anslinger made those comments before several Senate and Congress hearings.
1935: Marihuana influenced negroes to look at white people in the eye, step on white mens shadows, and look at a white woman twice. Hearst Newspapers
1937: Marihuana is the most violent drug in the history of mankind. Congressional Testimony, H.J. Anslinger, FBN
1938: Marihuana is more dangerous than heroin or cocaine. Anslinger, Scientific American, May, 1938
1938: If the hideous monster of Frankenstein came face to face with marihuana, he would drop dead of fright. Anslinger, FBN, quoted in Hearst newspaper
1937-50: Negro entertainers with their jazz and swing music are declared an outgrowth of marihuana use which possesses white women to tap their feet. statements to Congress by Anslinger, FBN
Reefer Madness Propaganda Through the Ages

Back in this thread are several articles and reports regarding some of the issues you mention in your post. The profitability of keeping it illegal is one. The agent this evening was plainly just a model role player who suited the the storyboard.
Your observation about their fear that people will start growing it again is provocative. Yesterday, I read that it'll grow just about anywhere - there's even a graphic here of it growing in the Afghan desert...why have we no "Johnny Potseed"?

We're obviously veering off-topic here
You're not veering off topic. The blue law crowd and the drug warriors are the same group. I'm old enough to remember when blue laws were all over the country. In some places they even managed to pass laws against dancing in clubs and taverns. The revolt of the sixties was a revolt against the blue law crowd and is still going on today.

Marc Emery is very brave.
A man willing to risk all to oppose tyranny...He is in the same league as our founders. King George has made a huge blunder by going after Marc Emery!

Natural law doesn't dictate a particular number (as far as I can tell).
Natural law doesn't dictate. The pursuit of happiness...Have fun and try not to hurt each other.
Natural law is reason and common sense. Mojave and his ilk can't comprehend Natural Law.
