Conservative Republican state Rep. Bill Sali needs your vote in an online poll on the 1st Congressional District race in Idaho:

Sali is endorsed by Concerned Women for America, Paul Weyrich, the Club for Growth, National Right to Work PAC, GunOwners of America, Idaho Chooses Life, etc.

He has a wide lead in funds raised, but his toughest opponent -- liberal former Sen. Sheila Sorensen -- has substantial personal wealth. As a Senate committee chair, she singlehandedly blocked consideration of a state marriage amendment and is pro-abortion.

Sali IS conservative, but the REAL conservative conservative is named Jess Valdez, the Canyon County commissioner who really stands up to the pro-illegal immigration forces which control the Democrats and Karl Rove, and who is a board member of ProEnglish.

Robert Vasquez is a great guy who's right on an important issue and would be my second choice.

Bill Sali is just as conservative on immigration and has a proven record across the board on all the issues.

The big difference: Sali can actually win.

With the Club for Growth's endorsement, Sali has $100,000 more in the bank than his closest rival.

Bob's not even competitive.

Correction: Bill Sali states anti-invasion positions. Bug fat hairy deal. There are two hundred anti-invasion representatives, when it comes to taking positions pro or con. I like Bill Sali, and I don't mean to imply his position is insincere, but he is merely an anti-invasion vote. Vasquez is an anti-invasion champion who is willing to shake things up, not just be another safe politician. If you want another Lindsay Graham, or Hastert, or Blount -- all among the better congressmen on the issue -- vote for Sali. If you want another Steve King or Tom Tancredo, vote for Vasquez.

I say again, Bob Vasquez, who I know, is a great guy.

But he's not even a competitive candidate.

The GOP nominee will either be conservative Bill Sali or liberal Sheila Sorensen, and any vote for Bob Vasquez is a vote that would otherwise go to Sali, the only candidate who can stop the liberal.

"The big difference: Sali can actually win."

Any republican who wins the primary will win. Money doesn't matter; here in Georgia back in 2002 there was a race for governor between Roy Barnes and Sonny Perdue. Perdue had 1.5 million and Barnes 20 million, and Perdue won. Sali supports a guest worker amnesty, or at least it appears that way on his website under issues.

If I lived there, Vasquez would have my vote, after that Norm Semanko. Bill Sali would place fourth on my list, thanks but no thanks. We'll see who wins in May.
