If the Democrats manage to take the House over this, the President's term is effectively over. Just as in the Miers mess, the conservative Republicans better dig in and hold the line or they and the President will be toast.

But you see, they don't care. They don't know how to be winners, they've been in the minority for so long that they don't know how to handle power, that's why they are tossing it away. These idiots haven't stood by this president, and they're going to taste the bitter fruit of those actions when once again they are in the minority and this country is destroyed by terrorists. Then they'll weep and moan about why didn't anyone DO anything.

It's amazing. Two weeks ago the left was imploding like the Hindenberg (still are) and the GOP stood to smack them hard in Nov. If handled properly this DPW/ports "issue" would have only cemented a big GOP smackdown. Now I'm watching the GOP steer their own ship right at the iceberg.

Maybe I should be happy since I'm a conservative and the GOP isn't. But I'm not. Dimwits!

You have described Republicans perfectly. And the president, the man who represents their party, is going to be impeached should the Rats take the House. I've probably never been so disgusted with my party in my lifetime.

These idiots haven't stood by this president...

Why should they stand by someone who's betrayed conservative principles repeatedly, and who's made one spectacular public policy blunder after another during his second term?

What conceivable asset will a president with a sub-40% approval rating be to Republican incumbents and aspiring officeholders this November?
