If your definition of failure is tax cuts, returning decency to the White House, putting conservatives on the bench, promoting a culture of life, improving readiness and morale within the military, and preventing us from starting/getting us out of antiquated or bad treaties, then we're in full agreement. Otherwise you're just another whiny turd in the punchbowl.
Exactly! What Dave is saying makes no sense. Take my state of TN for instance. Is anyone who was inclined to vote for whomever the Republicans run for senate going to nevertheless vote for Harold Ford Jr just because he's mad at Bush? I just don't see how this means more votes for Junior.

And come November this ports flap will be a distant memory, just like the Harriet Myers thing that got under the skin of the far right is now all but forgotten. 8 months is a lifetime in politics. And should there be another Supreme Court vacancy between now and then, that will serve to focus the minds of conservatives even more on voting for conservative candidates. But the stridency of the Dems. which hasn't even hit full stride yet will be the best get out the vote tool the GOP has for its core voters. Most conservatives are fed up with this extremist partisanship out of the Dems. and are just itching to make them pay for it at the polls.
With similar respect, may I ask what specific evidence you have that this company, this group of managers, is in any way connected to any terrorist activites?

I saw the sampling of this FOX poll.. It surveyed 10% more Democrats than Republicans (43% Dem. 33%Rep.), and was sampled in a "Blue" area. FOX has me puzzled here as to why they would also skew a poll like CBS did and was imbalanced in almost identical numbers.

Part of it is just the sloppy nature of media polls. I worked in polling for a long time. Media polls tend to be commissioned quickly based on events, and the client wants the results ASAP to get them on the news. So there is no time to balance for party I.D. and weighting the data can be expensive and cost time. So they just run with whatever their fishing net brings in and realize the public, journalists and many pundits are too stupid to question it.
I'm sure there is a certain amount of bias that enters into it as well. The media is clearly out to bring down Bush. If rigged polls make him look horrifically unpopular, then maybe it will be a self-fulfilling prophecy through a sort of peer effect.
In this day of 15 second sound bites, whirlwind political rhetoric, politics of personal destruction without constructive solutions and misinformed less-than-truthful MSM propaganda, the American Public has become skeptical of most everything they hear.
The public now views most polling data as nothing more than political manipulation by the MSM and take it as they would take worthless rhetoric.
The media is now 99% BS and is making the story, not reporting it. All of the media with the exception of a few analysts.

Perhaps but how many Republicans unhappy over the borders, the ports, the deficit and any number of issues are going to sit home on election day if its rainning or vote some stupid protest with the Libertarians or other third party.
