If Dick Morris really thinks Al Gore has a life in politics, I have a bridge I'd like to sell Morris.

Gore absolutely destroyed any chance of a life in politics when he went to Saudi Arabia and made the outrageous statements he made.

Do you or anyone on this forum know who paid for Al Gore's trip to Saudi Arabia? I haven't heard.

Morning, Peach! (well, it was morning, when I started this reply)

As much as I hate to disagree with you (cause I don't think I ever have), I must. In the Democratic party, comments like Gore's in S.A. enhanced his chances, just like his losing the G.A. did, in 2000.

As the Maha Rushie has said, failure in the Democratic Party is a cause for promotion, not demotion. I would add that failure in the Donkey party is reciprocal - their failures are promoted to positions where they can fail all the more spectacularly. It's "The Peter Principle" with a twist: the level of their incompetence is level one.

Now, of course, I know what you mean: even if he were to get the nomination(which is as big an "if" as he is...big, that is), there's no way in bloody hell that he'd win the G.A. Or is there? After all, this guy was elected as a senator, he was the VP for eight forgettable years, and came damn close to stealing the G.A. in 2000. Who knows what could happen?

So I guess my "disagreement" with you was just in jest. Keep up the great work!

Lets be honest here....if you are a southern Democrat...you just can't vote for Hillary. I'd make a guess that half the Democrats in the midwest and in the steel belt...don't want to vote for her either...so who will they vote for? Gore attracts southern Democrats still...there is the appeal of the guy even ten years later to what southern Democrats demand. I'm guessing that Gore will make a trip to Iowa this summer and test the waters. lets face facts...in Iowa...given a choice between Hillary or Al....I think over 30 percent will vote for Al. The question is...is that enough to win the primary?

Al hates Hillary....we know this from the various rumor-mills of the Clinton house. I think Al would love to take Hillary out of the Iowa primary...and make her work real hard to come back. The funny thing is that 2nd primary isn't exactly going to be strong Hillary stomping grounds either. And I don't think that Hillary can win there. This poses an interesting test...can Al generate enough momentium and take the first two primaries? One has to wonder if Bill secretly would prefer Al to win and take Hillary out of the picture. There is nothing for Bill to gain with Hillary in office, and her past attitude...trying to boss Bill around...might create a very untidy situation for Bill to stew in.

I would bet that not one in twenty voters even knows he went there, much less what he said. And not one in a hundred 'rat voters would care, even if they knew.
