That Discovery Channel show about the volcano and it's possible eruption was interesting.

Not only that, but it's causing "thermal unrest."

Yellowstone is the most bizarre place on the planet IMHO. If it does blow, Kansas where I live will be too close the event.

did Yellowstone sign on to Kyoto global warming agreement?
a volcanic eruption the size they predict for Yellowstone would pollute for years..send in the global warming crowd to do something now.. sarc

That Discovery Channel show about the volcano and it's possible eruption was interesting.Yeah, that was one of those, "put jam in your pockets, cause we're about to be toast," scenarios.

more is being learned about the Yellowstone caldera, the huge bowl-shaped collapsed volcano in the middle of the park that last erupted 640,000 years ago.
Why is it that a statement like this is accepted as fact but when you post a 'Wet Paint'sign everyone insists on confirming it with the finger test?

Yes it was a really interesting show. Either Smithsonian or National Geographic did a layout about this and it seems that until we could see the entire park area via satellite, no one realized that the 'caldera' was many miles across, practically the entire park is the center of a major eruption site.
I think Ohio is far enough from any eruption, but nothing is far enough from the resulting smoke and ash - it will be a real mess if/when it blows.

If it does blow, Kansas where I live will be too close the event.A couple of things I've seen on the National Geographic Channel suggest that if it blows,it will be so big that Antarctica will be too close to the event.
To: The_Victor
Maybe a meteorite will crash into it and plug it up?
