Well sorry if I offend anyone, but if someone calls me self centered when I value my family really angers me.
Again I never ask anyone for help, I take care of my own family, that's the way it should be.
There are some that have an irrational hatred of technology, they see some of it as "a toy".
My experience with people like that is that they are in situations where they don't personally need the technology and they want to make judgements about others based on their own situation.
I don't need a 4wd diesel powered F-350 truck for my work but others do. Am I going to complain about them driving one? No.
So which is it, your business or your family? You say that you're a mortgage specialist and need to be available 24 x 7 for vendors and customers or they'll turn elsewhere. You then mention you have a diabetic child and that you don't attend the theater, restaurants, or movies. If your business is that critical, you might be compelled to sacrifice pleasurable events until after you reach retirement. If your young children are ill, you should spend all available time with them until they are old enough to take care of themselves.
In my earlier post above I provided a helpful hyperlink to camps that assist children with diabetes achieve rewarding lives that will lead them to independence. You chose to bypass that suggestion and instead focus on how your telephone must ring regardless of where you are located. If you wish to embrace rude behavior because you think your calls are so critically important, at least come out and say it with gusto! Adults hiding behind diabetic children is cowardly behavior and unbecoming of a businessman.
